#CHSWFF Highlights

Took us a minute to recover after a 4-day, 4-night non-stop Charleston Wine + Food Festival…but we sure did have fun! Here are a few photo highlights from the whirlwind weekend. ByrdHouse clients Lewis Barbecue, Zero George, Cannon Green, Prohibition, Rutledge Cab Co., Pawpaw and Giant all hosted really wonderful events and we had a blast running all over town supporting everyone. Now to start planning for 2018!?!

    Pawpaw Restaurant Opens

Over Christmas, Pawpaw Restaurant quietly opened at 209 East Bay Street (the old Wet Willie’s), and is already receiving glowing reviews. We’ve been excited about this one ever since we met Chef Jared Rogers and GM Jared Jones last year – they are a dynamic, energetic and passionate duo behind the restaurant and we think you are going to love what they are doing!

Chef Jared puts his own modern, California-influenced spin on classic Lowcountry dishes like a dynamite Blackbird Farm Kale Salad, Davee’s Buttermilk Biscuits (totally worth indulging), a slew of Jared’s famous housemade pastas, and his Signature #88 Recipe Fried Chicken (you know it’s going to be perfect if this is the 88th rendition!). Pawpaw is proving that classic southern food can still be hip, beautiful and delicious. Hope you get a chance to stop in and try it for lunch or dinner soon. You won’t leave hungry!

Les Dames Autumn Affair, September 29

We look forward to this lovely event on the banks of the Ashley River every year. The food + wines are some of the best we get at any event all year–and we go to A LOT of events! I know we’ve all been to a million silent auctions, but we promise you, this one really is awesome. Each “Dame” is responsible for donating something to the auction, and we are encouraged to think out of the box to create experiences that you can’t buy for yourself. Combine all of that with perfect Charleston fall weather at Lowndes Grove, and you have a really memorable night out! Come join us!

John Lewis Reunion Tour this February!

If you didn’t get a taste of pitmaster John Lewis’s pop up at Revelry Brewing last summer, here’s your second chance! Bonus to checking it out this go-round…no waiting in 100+ degree heat for 3 hours to eat hot, spicy barbecue. This time, John’s partnered with 3 favorite local breweries–Coast, Holy City and Revelry–to do a series of Saturday pop ups during February.

You can read all about it here.

The fun starts February 6 at Coast in North Charleston. See you there!

Downtown’s Newest Shopstopper :: Beckett Boutique

We don’t often venture into the world of fashion, but when we do we have a lot of fun doing it! We were so excited to work with Chelsea Karol on the opening of her beautiful new shop on King Street, Beckett Boutique. She’s got a knack for creating a space that makes you want to stay a while–the store is bright and stylish, right down to the white washed floors. Oh, and about those clothes. Wowzers…there is some stuff to behold inside! Check it out soon. Here are a few photos from the party.

              7th Annual Lowcountry Field Feast

One of our most favorite weekends is upon us…it’s time for Lowcountry Field Feast! We have an awesome event lined up with some of the best chefs in town–Frank Lee (SNOB), Robert Berry (Pancito + Lefty), Chris Stewart (Glass Onion) and Field Feast 2014 alum, Kevin Johnson (The Grocery). We are headed back to one of our fav locations from Field Feasts past…Fiddler’s Green in James Island, perfectly situated on the banks of Lighthouse Creek. Hoping to raise lots of cash for our favorite non-profit, Lowcountry Local First.

As always, we are incredibly honored to work with some of the greatest talents in Charleston to pull this one off. A BIG thanks to Gathering | Garden & Gun | Stitch | Sideshow Press | Grassroots Wine | Bittermilk + Tipplemans | Edmund’s Oast | Brennan Wesley Photographer | Snyder Event Rentals!

Diner en Blanc Charleston is tomorrow!

Tomorrow is the day that Charleston will witness the first ever Diner en Blanc, a tres chic pop-up picnic that originated in Paris in the 80’s and has since become quite the worldwide phenomenon.

We were honored (and a little daunted!) to be chosen as the Charleston partners for this first annual event. It’s been a lot of fun and we can’t wait to see it all come together tomorrow. We still can’t tell you the location, but trust us–it’s going to be a beautiful spot for dinner + dancing with 800 of your closest friends! 🙂

Here are a few of our favorite photos from past Diner en Blancs all over the world.

Southern C Summit + Charleston Insiders’ Weekend

There seems to be no shortage of busy weeks in Charleston these days, and this one is no different! We’re kicking off the craziness today as we attend The Southern C Summit, put on in part by our lovely officemates at Leapfrog PR. We’re excited to learn some stuff, see some old friends and make some new ones. It promises to be a fun time, even if we’re dreading wearing high heels. 🙂

Next up–Charleston Insiders’ Weekend, which starts Thursday. The first-ever event, put on by Time, Inc., celebrates Charleston’s gracious style of living, phenomenal epicurean scene, exceptional shopping, rich history and undiscovered gems—all from an insider’s point of view.

We’re excited to see some of our favorite national editors of Coastal Living, Departures, Food & Wine, Southern Living and Travel + Leisure while they are in town. Cannon Green is hosting a cocktail reception, and Zero George plays host to many of the editors + will also be hosting a special reception.
