      New Client News

The cat’s out of the bag! We couldn’t be more excited to share the news about our newest client, a new restaurant concept coming to 708 King Street in the old Zappo’s pizza place. Owners Jimmy Poole (The Alley) and Chef Robert Berry (formerly of Indaco) are teaming up with Berry’s wife, Betsy of B. Berry Interiors, to create one of the coolest spaces we’ve seen in a long time.

Eater has the first scoop. Stay tuned for more spicy details to come!

        Toasting the Decade

Happy Charleston Wine + Food Festival week, y’all! As we chug our green juice in preparation for the five-day festival filled with an abundance of food, drinks, and fun, we’d like to share with you what events we’re most excited to attend.  And follow along with us @ByrdHousePR to see our favorite bites and sips.

        Wednesday, March 4

The Festival kicks it old school for this year’s Opening Night Gala with local chefs honoring the tried and true Charleston Receipts cookbook recipes.

        Thursday, March 5

We’re throwing on our dancing shoes for the Cross Culture BBQ at The Royal American on Thursday night. We reckon that Pitmaster John Lewis’s legendary barbecue is going to taste even better with some cold beers and live tunes.

        Friday, March 6

On Friday, we rev up our engines for two whole days of eating and drinking! First up, the Rose + Grilling Tent in the Culinary Village, where we’ll sip on the pink stuff while sampling grilled delights from chefs including Zero George’s Vinson Petrillo and Cannon Green’s Amalia Scatena.

After a quick catnap (wishful thinking), we’ll head over to Mike Lata’s new home on JI for his Fish Fry + Clam Bake and then finish the evening cheering on John Lewis at the Waffle House Smackdown. After training at the WF in Austin, we think his cuisine will most definitely rein supreme!

        Saturday, March 7

We’ll need a little hair of the dog on Saturday morning, so we’ll hit up the Southern Betty Brunchwhere the best and brightest female chefs are dishing up brunch at the Charleston Place Hotel.

After a solid fueling up, it’s off to Zero George for more imbibing, this time at the Virginia is for (Wine + Food) Lovers event. Following the wine trail, we’ll head to the William Aiken House to sample some vino at Pinot NV and nosh on bites from great chefs including Patrick Owens of Langdon’s and Opal.

        Sunday, March 8

Ouch. Drink green juice, sleep, repeat. 🙂
